I can't get my iphone to turn on plleeaassee help.?

This has happened to my iphone 3g a few times and usually if I hold the power button along with the home button while its on the charger it usually turned on but this time nothing is working I've tried plugging it in the wall charger and to my computer and it's been on the charger for the whole night but has the red battery with the lightning bolt. I don't have a way to get to any local help so please if you can help in any way I'd gladly appreciate it.!
